A few shots of a fledgling, near Cedar Beach and nest #6, on 6/26/14.  We found at least 5 fledged PIPL on 6/26/14, most at the beginning of the Francis Street spit or on Cedar Beach.  Also a photo of a  hatchling near nest#4 on the sandbar.  Hatchling looks about 2 weeks old.  Also a few photos of adults.

PIPL male, female 111 Shell Ave , 6/10-11/14

A few record shots of the male and female PIPL in front of the exclosed nest at 111 Shell Ave on 6/10/14 and 6/11/14.  He has a distinctive forehead band.  The incubating female seemed squirmy on the 10th as if she felt activity within the egg(s), or perhaps she had a chick underneath her, but she was foraging the next morning.

Found a Giant Swallowtail in a private yard in Orange, CT today (6/6/14).  This slightly worn and bitten butterfly seemed to be patrolling the property.  A few record shots below:
