At Stratford Point, at least two dozen Swarthy Skippers in the week of 10-17 August 2017.  Also present at Stratford Pt, many C Sootywings; also common to see swallows, including Banks, on wires; the fox probably the young of a couple denning there.  At Milford Point the Saltmarsh Sparrows are increasing in number--all juveniles so far.  Migrating Bobolinks stop at Silver Sands, apparently feeding on Marsh Elder.

Giant Swallowtail, Zabulon Skippers, 8/6/16

Yesterday had a Zabulon Skipper at Lighthouse Park butterfly garden, and today had many Zabulons (and Peck's and Tawny Edge) at the Kellogg Center in Derby.  Also there saw another dark form (female) of the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail.  Then, in our home garden a Giant Swallowtail appeared briefly along with our Monarchs and Eastern Tiger Swallowtails.  A few record photos below:
