Today, in warmer, calmer weather, there are 2 PIPLs at the Francis Street spit at Milford Point. They look very much alike--probably 2 males from the sharpness of the neck band and the forehead bar, but they can be told apart. The one in the first 3 pictures is slightly darker overall, and his forehead band curves down slightly in the middle of the top edge (giving the impression of a moustache), in contrast to his paler friend (final 2 pictures) whose forehead band is straight. (Yesterday's bird did not have the moustache-like head bar.) Below some photos to illustrate.
