About 8 houses west of 99 Shell, their birthplace, the 3 young PIPL were flying today, 2 July 13, 28 days after they hatched on 4 June 13. They have fledged in time to get away from the July 4th fireworks and mob expected on the beach. Fledgling photos are from 7/3/13, mainly in front of 859 East Broadway, Milford CT. The family of two adults and 3 fledglings still stick together very tightly. All the fledglings do a lot of wing stretching; adults still chase away (of lure away) threats such as gulls.
