A few record shots from Demuth Park area 1/16/14. Featured is the Cackling Goose, here seen on the Tahquitz Creek Golf Course with Canada Geeses and American Coots. Notice short bills, relatively rounded head and darkish underparts, relatively shorter necks and smaller bodies. There were 4 Cackling Geese in the goose flock. The Greater White-fronteds are probably the same quartet featured yesterday. Also a few W Meadowlarks (from a group of 6) and Cedar Waxwing (from a group of 10) from Bel Air Green, a 9-hole course across the street from Demuth.
