Ross's Goose, CITE, BWTE Demuth 1/29/15

While at the first percolation pond watching a group of 7 Blue-winged Teal and 7 Cinnamon Teal, I noticed a flight of geese circling in, and noticed 3 were white: they turned out to be 2 Snow Geese and one Ross's Goose.  Photos below:

A few record shots of trip to and at Whitewater Preserve today, 1/28/15.  Two coyotes were at the Tipton Road ponds.  An adult Peregrine Falcon was flying and calling on the rock face above the man-made ponds at Whitewater Preserve, then resting on its perch/nest.  A Western Screech-Owl was sitting in a sycamore tree on the ground of the preserve.  California Thrashers provide constant song background.

1/23/15 Small Canada Goose Taquitz Golf Course, Demuth Park; also CITE, BWTE, GWTE. Also BEWR, CACW

A few record shots of a small CanadaGoose this PM (1/23/15) in the company of about 25 CANG and a SNGO ; saw probable CAGO this AM at Bel Air.  Note: ID of CAGO tricky, and I'm not happy about the bill shape: it seems too much like CANG.  Also, BWTE, CITE, GADW, NSHO at percolation pond.  A record 6 CITE (4 drake, 2 hens), 11 drake BWTE, and a GWTE.

A first for Demuth, Wilson's Snipe (with BWTE and GADW on old percolation pond late on 1/22/15: bad record shots taken through the chain-lnk fence.  Also, Gambel's Quail and a nesting Verdin at Cabot's Pueblo Museum in Desert Hot Springs.
