Discovered on the NHBC Christmas Count, a Western Tanager in an apple tree in Bog Meadow park in New Haven (Annex); also, a Western Flycatcher (either Pacific Slope or Cordilleran). Western birds rarities have been a theme this Christmas Count season because of the warm weather with westerly winds this month. In Bog Meadow apple tree was also a Baltimore Oriole. Also, a week earlier, a silhouette of two Cave Swallows (western theme) at Milford Point: one first flew over Elm Street/Trumbull Ave in Milford.
