This afternoon, a cold Saturday and the first day of October, 2016, Ammodramus sparrows were plentiful in the Spartina alterniflora marsh next to the main sandbar at Milford Point. Most were Nelson's sparrows, but at least one Saltmarsh was present as was a Seaside--an unusual presence at this time of year.
