11/4/17, Milford Yard, Black Swallowtail osmeterium; WCSP. A few photos from our yard, today (11/4/17): e photos showing the emergence of the osmeterium on one of our Black Caterpillar Swallowtails (on Rue); (because the osmeterium is stored in the caterpillar in an
inverted position, it must
evert the osmeterium to deploy it); the White-crowned Sparrow is present for the 3rd day running.
