White-rumped Sandpiper 9/8/16; Fiery & Ocola Skipper, 9/9/18

On 9/8/16, a juvenile White-rumped Sandpiper appeared on the main sandbar at Milford Point: it's a tough task to separate it from a Baird's Sandpiper, the other long-winged Peep, but the rufous remnant in the scapulars is one indication.  I did not see the bird fly, and only saw it for a few seconds.  The Fiery Skipper was at the Lighthouse Point Park butterfly garden (actually, just across the street), while the Ocola was in our home garden (last year we first found one on 9/7).  At least 6 Sachem were in the home garden, esp. on the Sedum and Buddleia: often mating.
