Piping Plover family, Shell Beach, 6/30/17 & 6/28/17. On 6/30/17, chicks flew about 8 feet following mom, who was leading them away from crowded beach with dogs. On 6/28/17, Female shelters with chick in shade; male takes sentry duty. Chicks more than 2 weeks old.

Common Goldeneye again, Wilcox Park, Milford CT 6/25/17
Relocated this individual yesterday near WilcoxPark, and photographed him this morning (6/25/17). Probably same individual as one reported on 5/15/17. Must be a Common Goldeneye from overall shape (note round-dance head, for example), but still is in what looks closest to a juvenile plumage. Note naked shafts of flight feathers, evident esp in first photo and video.
