Cloudless Sulphur, home garden; Variegated Fritillary, Milford Point, 10/19/16

This morning a Cloudless Sulphur landed in home and neighbor's garden. (One had gone through 2 days ago, but it did not stop.)  We're in a stretch of record warm temperatures.  This one is a male.  Also saw one at Silver Sands SP.  Photos below of Variegated Fritillary at Silver Sands.  Also saw one at Silver Sands.

Saltmarsh Sparrow, Clapper Rail, Silver Sands, 10/8/16

With other birders observed Ammodramus sparrows sparrows in main saltmarsh spartina.  A few very gray, unstreaked Nelson's stood in contrast to the following bird, a likely Saltmarsh Sparrow:

American Golden Plover, Milford Point, 10/7/16

In the continuing flock of 75-100 Black-bellied Plovers, I found an American Golden Plover, which stood out by its smaller size, darker color (with some gold flecks still in back), squarish dove-like head, white superciium, and comparatively small bill.  Differentiated from other golden plovers by long primary projection.
