Black Tern, Milford Point, CT 7/28/19

At Milford Point on 28 July 19 a juvenile Black Tern was among a large group of Common (minimum of 200)  and Least Terns (minimum of 100).  A few record videos and photos below, all taken from distance and into bad lighting.

American Snout, backyard, 7/17/19

This year American Snouts have been seen relatively frequently near Milford, with them often seen at the Ct Audubon Coastal Center.  This morning, 17 July 19, one has been actively feeding on our backyard Hemp dogbane.  Also around, 4 Monarchs, 2 Black Swallowtails, and a Painted Lady.  Photos and a video of the American Snout below:

Chick and adult Oystercatcher, adult and chick Killdeer, Milford Pt 7/11/19.  This is the first chick to be born at Milford Point in a few years.  The Killdeer are doing well, as usual, and nesting near or on the Francis Street spit.
