Mew Gull (Kamchatka), West Haven, 6&7 April 2021

Mew Gull (Kamchatka), West Haven, 6&7 April 2021.  First found at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, the rare Kamchatka Mew Gull was refound by John Oshlick on 5 April.  We viewed it on the beach in West Haven on both the 6 & 7 April, 2021.  A few poor record photos below.  Most striking is the size of the Kamchatka Mew Gull.  The ones we see in California are smaller the Ring-billed Gulls, but this on is larger in every dimension.  Its wings are longer, its legs and bill are longer.  Also, its head is not the rounded, dovelike shape of the California Mews.
